Here similar problem, not as catastrophic, but same intention. Chinese are coming in big numbers, buying houses, in some cases 1 person buying 60 houses. They put a little furniture in, then return to China and house stands empty. Now house prices so inflated, local people cannot afford them, many living in caravan, cramped Govt house etc. This is happening in many places, and many things, land, food, etc Chinese just taking. For Tibet, situation is an insight as to what could happen elsewhere in time if Chinese not stopped

Subject: Tibet bulldozed by China

This is what is happening to Lhasa and other cities/towns in Tibet under Chinese rule. This is what China does to territories they have conquered. They are doing the same thing in Uighur & Mongolian towns/cities. This is why independence from Tibet is so important because as long as Tibet is ruled by China, Tibetans will always suffer.

Please sign the petition to UNESCO to stop the destruction of Lhasa:

Subject: A stele

In front of the entrance of the Jokhang in Lhasa there is a stele. It carries a bilingual inscription of the Tibetan-Chinese agreement of the year 821 between the Tibetan king and the Chinese emperor: "Tibet and China shall abide by the frontiers of which they are now in occupation. All to the East is the country of Great China, and all to the West is the country of Great Tibet. (...)". This stele has survived the Cultural Revolution. I wonder if it will survive the present "renovation" of the Barkhor.

Lhasa left floating
like a ghoulish Chinese kite,
The imprints of our history
erased, dead, out of sight.
Wholesale destruction
our land bloodied and raw,
A Middle Way to what?
Through China's one way door.?

As Ostriches we hide
heads buried in the sand,
Under the "watch" of Sikyong
annihilation of our land.

O brave free world
under the blanket of fear
time to raise your heads
time to listen and hear
the final call from Tibetan voice
To burst the "China Dream"
You have a choice
to derail,
China's "madness machine".
