I absolutely love the attitude emerging in this act. By telling the Chinese upfront what the plan was, and setting a strong boundary regarding dress code and language they are absolutely taking back power from the oppressor. I hope more of this behavior continues....Yay!!

When we sadly see a near complete surrender from weak Tibetan politicians in free India, we proudly see Tibetans in oppressed Tibet keeping the flame of Rangzen.

Wow this is good. Cunning Chinese regime is trying to be good or they are playing game.

Let's wait and see.

Bravo.

I am surprised by the courage of monks who are the real contributors for the just cause of Tibet. China shouldn't have problem of believing His Holiness because the symbol of peace never provoke hatred or violence. Chinese should change their attitude from extreme suspicious to moderate thinking.

Tibetans live in Tibet and never go to occupy Chinese land or jobs, so what's problem with them.

Subject: Tibetans defy China!
Jul 29 2011 01:35 AM

This is truly amazing news. Thousands of Tibetans defying direct orders from the Chinese Communist Party to pay public reverence & support for His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who China considers to be a "dangerous separatist." The organizers & attendees of this event face the possibility of arrest for this event & yet their loyalty & faith in His Holiness were stronger than their fear of arrest. These Tibetans are truly brave patriots!

This demonstrates that Tibetans don't believe the CCP & won't accept China's attempts to stop reverence for His Holiness by Tibetans. This also shows Tibetans will not be cowed by the Chinese Govt. This is an example of mass non-violent resistance to the CCP.

I hope other Tibetans throughout Tibet will learn from this event. They can and should defy China by publicly worshiping & praying to His Holines and publicly displaying His Holiness' image in monasteries & their homes. If all 6 million Tibetans defied China, the CCP cannot stop them. Free Tibet!

Bravo, Bravo, Bravo! Lithangpas in Eastern Tibet, bold and straight forward actions for the cause of Tibet will truly soothe the mind and heart of those brave hearts who are in Chinese prison! Though they are in prison, deprived of any kind of freedom, their heart and mind still longs for such kind of brave actions for the cause of Tibet.

Enthroning the portrait of His Holiness truly means enthroning the truthful rights, dignity and freedom of Tibetan people on it's right place. This in reality shows that half a century Chinese suppression and oppression made Tibetans to suffer physically, but mentally they couldn't make a slight changes, forget of winning Tibetan hearts!

Cheers for the selfless actions of brave hearts in Tibet! Our dreams of freedom is turning into reality now!

My congratulations to the brave organisers and Tibetan people inside Tibetan, for keeping alive our Hopes and Dreams and defying the Chinese Communist Party. It is a shame that in Exile we seems to be reneging on our efforts..

Resurgence of Tibetan nationhood. Selfless sacrifice. Indomitable spirit and pride as a Tibetan. That is what Lithang stands for and that is what men of Lithang and Kham have laid down their lives for, generation after generation. Go Tibet go!
