Thank you for this. And looking forward to Part II.

Reading this made me wonder what would Tibet be like if CCP hadn't occupied Tibet. Everyone would've adopted the term, 'Bes'kope' and not 'Lognyan', for film. So is true for many other terms that are direct translation from Chinese terms....

One more nugget in the early media history part : when George Bogle came to Tibet in 1774 he was invited to the Panchen Lama in Tashilunpo , who showed him camera obscura pictures of his native London .
