on the one hand u say our culture is dying becoz we don't have a country where we rule ourselves but on the other hand u say independence is not even debatable! me thinks u r trying to tackle the symptoms rather than think about making attempts to remove the root cause of all our national problems. homelessness is the root cause. independence is the answer.

Tibetans in Tibet are living their life on that fine thin line where they could neither come out loud nor could they suppress their feeling. I personally have felt their feelings at numerous time and I just wish we could settle something on Tibet issue at the earliest. Like any Tibetan, I always dreamt of Tibet as free nation in near future. But the lives of tens of thousands of Tibetans in Tibet is precious to all of us. Their education, freedom of expression and religion and a prosperous life is always in our prayers. Independence or Genuine autonomy, it is sooner the better for everyone, Tibetans inside and outside Tibet.

A very insightful letter from a Tibetan inside Tibet who has experienced the occupation firsthand. I think all Tibetans & Tibet supporters should consider these person's words when we decide how we can best help Tibet & Tibetans.

Emphasis should be, however emotive, on the strong idea of independence with a non voilent face as the corner stone for our struggle. Preserving Tibetan culture and a way of our life as the primary means for keeping the struggle alive, while modernizing oursevles around it. We must shift away from the desperation of holding talks with China for an urgent solution now, instead make a national resolution that we are prepared to play the waiting game for hundred of years to come as many other countries did before us. One way for ensuring it we try to send as many Tibetans as possilbe from India and especailly from Tibet, after a short stint in India, to various powerful countries around the world under the pretext of refugee settlement programs.Clearly we are open to talks if China so inclined genuinely. As this author says, maintaining the traffic between Tibet and India is important. A lot of what this author says resonate with me even though I have'nt been to Tibet yet. I hope this specail meeting comes up with something , even if symbolic, that we all Tibetans can unite under and get passionate about it even many many generations later of not seeing a f ree Tibet.
