Subject:
dubious scholarship

Dear Jamyang Norbu la,
On reading Melvyn Goldstein's the Tibet Question, I was very much struck by a certain practise of his: When outlining the background of the invasion of Tibet he presented the Chinese case as made by 'Chinese intellectuals' and the Tibetan case as made by 'Tibetan nationalists'. This is of course only one small way in which he legitimized the aggressor's case over the victim's.
I very much enjoying reading your work and am so thankful that Goldstein's dubious scholarship has been exposed.
Thank you so much for your expert judgement on Goldstein's "impartial" history.
Sincerely, Tenzin
