I am a Tibetan.I too wish that the Peking olympics "would" be a success
but not at the cost of Tibet and Tibetan peoples' freedom. Not at the cost of hundreds of Tibetan lives that China do not hasitate to take any time
when they get fits.China needs to have
control over her anger. She needs to quit complaining about every thing that do not make any sense to most of the world and its people.I like ASEAN's choice of verb
"would be???" over will be.

Subject: HERE COMES MISUNDERSTANDING
May 07 2008 07:45 PM

As mentioned earlier, here comes the misundertansing of the international community. Last week's meeting between China's rep and His Holiness the Dalai Lama's Rep does not comes under any kind of negotiation, but Tibetan Representatives were summoned to down load the barrage of abusive rhetoric against His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Tibetans in exile. China did not gave date and place of next meeting. They were just interested in telling the world that we are under the process of negotiation and intertional community has no business to interfere in the internal affairs of China. We did a big mistake by going there without approving for a set agenda of the meeting or without any observer from a third country. With grace of sacrifies made by our brothers and sisters in Tibet, for the first time, we had a upper hand to impose a pre-condition before such negotiation. We have missed that chance. I am not blaming totally on our exile-government as I can understand their love and deep concern to the thousands of Tibetans inside Chinese prison in Tibet. This single factor may blind us to accept any condition impossed by China. Lets hope for the best under the leadership of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
