A complete boycott of the 2008 Olympics by ALL participating nations athletes is the only way to get the message across to the Chinese Government that the free world will no longer tolerate their repression/opression of innocent victims seeking human rights. Unfortunately, the facade of "business as usual" will prevail and more lives will be lost, those that simply disappear, never to be heard from again. How sad.

And, why not? A boycott was successful in overturning an oppressive regime in South Africa! What if no one showed up to the Olympics in China? Would the world end, would competitive amateur sports as we know it end? No. I think it was a mistake to have awarded China the Olympics in the first place. The Olympic Committee pandered to the Chinese then, and by not boycotting now, we continue not so passive endorsement of torture, intimidation, forced assimilation, and abuse of basic human rights.

Currently, China is the "Most Favored Nation" in US trade agreements. Everyone in the world, corporations, governments, individuals are endeavoring to ingratiate themselves to China. And for what? Greed. Let us show that we are above price, that the Tibetan People are above price, and show some intestinal fortitude!!!

Boycott the Olympics in China!

I must admit I'm proud of the MP representatives of my country in this case. Just started my private campaign, too, I'm going to constantly play Tibetan music and "scrobble" at Last.fm
