The objective of a Media is to campaign for the freedom of expression and speech and to represent the voice of the people irrespective of their beliefs. It saddens me that the editor of phayul.com would censor the comments representing the Shugden devotees against the non-democratic, theocratic actions of the Tibetan government-in-exile. You, the editor of phayul.com , should not act as a biased medium that represents only the voice of a government that operates on fallacy, hypocrisy and intimidation towards the weak and the voiceless, which is irrevocably damaging our Tibetan community and our Nation.

You, the editor of phayul.com, will be held accountable for suppressing the freedom of speech and expression and for taking the side of the oppressive and autocratic Tibetan government in exile.

Subject: TGIE AND ITS SHUGDEN POSITION
Oct 25 2007 12:16 AM

The real issue at the crux of the controversy over the practice of Shugden Worship is that it promotes a divisive tradition among those who practice it. Shugden worshippers insists on superiority of Gelug sect over Nyingma, Sakya and Kagyu. And specifically targets those Gelugpas who assimilate teachings of these other traditions into their practice, HHDL undoubtedly the most prominent among them. This is a fundamentalist form of sectarianism, which has potentiality to threaten the seat of the HHDL and the unity of Tibetan people. This being a fact, I don’t understand why the exile government, founded upon a secular constitution should hold any position on this accept the position that it is against divisive activities of any nature be it religious or non-religious. TGIE should avoid using the term Shugden Worshippers and adopt a more general term like “Divisive Elements”; otherwise it may find itself guilty of favouritism or worse separatism.

My fellow Tibetans in exile, ask yourselves. Was their more problem before HHDL announced publicly against Shugden or after that? Shugden worshippers as far as I know were mostly good people. There were many Shugden worshippers among the soldiers who escorted HHDL into exile in 1959. The problem began after this issue was publicly raised and when the Tibetan community and government started out casting them and labelling them as “against HHDL and against Tibetan cause”. There were a lot of Shugden worshippers before but there was no problem. Now, we have a new problem. I don’t think it was necessary at all to raise this issue in the first place.

If HHDL wants to reserve the right to decide who attends his private religious teachings - although there doesn’t seems to be any restrictions against say a Voodoo worshipper, a communist or a Muslim or a Christian fundamentalists – I don’t think it is a big deal. He may have religious or spiritual reasons or may be it’s a personal choice. But I think it is fundamentally wrong for a government to take a position against a specific group of its own people on the basis of its religious belief, if it wants to be known as a Secular government.

SPEAK UP FOR A RELIGION FREE GOVERNMENT.

I WOULD LIKE THE TIBETAN GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE A STATEMENT BANNING ALL DIETY WORSHIPPING. FOR IF THEY CAN'T DO THAT THEN THEY MUST ACCEPT SHUGDEN WORSHIPPERS AS WELL. ALSO I WOULD LIKE THE TGIE TO BAN INDUCTION YOUNG CHILDREN INTO MONASTERIES (TULKUS INCLUDED), THESE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE INSTITUTES OF HIGHER LEARNING NOT KINDERGARTEN OR PRE-SCHOOLS.
I HATE THE FACT RELIGION AND POLITICS IS SO MIXED UP IN TGIE.

First of all, all Tibetans let us pay homage to HH The Dalai Lama and pay regards to him.

Each and every single Tibetan, please let us work togehter for Free Tibet or Autonomous Tibet.

Let's not fight for spirit. This ISSUE is perfect hook for Red China to stir up the Tibetan community and source of splitting among Tibetans. United Tibetan is Free Tibet. I do firmly trust on it !

Don`t Let the Shugden be HINDRANCE to Free Tibet. If Shugden does, So Tibetans have Palden Lhamo and others as protectors. If they can`t protect Tibetan, then they are not in position to be our Protectors!

Religious freedom includes, that every religious organisation can educate persons in their own way.

National identity includes people with the same ethnic, language, way of live, so called "culture".

Where is the national Tibetan point, to which Tibetan refugees can go, if they are not Buddhists or not the "right" Buddhists?
