I don't know exactly what Chinese are trying to prove by organising a torch relay to Everest? Don't they know that it only adds to the already warming globe. Are they ignorant or they really don't care a hoot about the world they live in? There must be some way out of this or rather some way into the thick skulls of the Olympic Committee 2008. We have just one world and its expiry date is not too far...

Subject: The road paved with lies!
Jul 28 2007 02:55 AM

The big lie; the Chinese in Tibet have always been liars. There is no proof that the construction of the road to Everest base camp on the Tibet side has been stopped.

They are just trying to defuse the critics by claiming, no reason for the stoppage and that they are just repairing the “dirt road” that already exists for the benefit of the local Tibetans.

The mountain is sacred and Tibetans have never needed a “paved road” to Everest. It is the Chinese that need this road, for their propaganda and the mountaineers that want boasting-rights to having climbed Everest using their silver spoons.

Give us a break here; the Chinese have never fooled us with their centuries of dishonesty and fabrication regarding territorial claims to Tibet!
