Subject: doble standard

European supporter, i totally agree with you, these supposedly freedom loving countries like us and uk all play friendly face infront of the international media, seeming sympathetic to the Tibetan situation all the while bagging millions of business deals with china behind the doors. Condone one thing at the same time helping to fund it. It seem like US poke China a little bit with the "human rights in Tibet, talk wiht DL" only when it is in their interest to intimidate China, but after wards when all is well, compensate China with hugh business deals knowing that money is used for killing and injustice. Such a double standard and one of these days it going to come bite them in the ass. They are undermining the very ideals of human right and freedom their countries are based on.

To European Supporters, world is full of hypocrisy. Amidst hypocrisy, it is still nice to hold hopes. When world is governed by colonialiists of past and present, how can you ask a colonialist to support in order to uproot the colonial control of another colonialist?

Anyway, Bush is bit stronger than Blair. After meeting Chinese leadership, Bush intentionally made known to public that he addressed Tibet with Chinese leaders and he asked Chinese leader to invite Dalai lama personally and hear themselves personally from the Dalai Lama about his "Middle Way Approach" even when the reporter or the journalist did not even mention Tibet in his question.

Subject: Freudian slip
Nov 21 2005 03:09 PM

"in everyday usage, Freudian slip has come to mean a slip of the tongue that reveals the speaker's true meaning or intention."

Tibetans are indeed "victims of hope".

For instance world leaders like Blair and Bush are willing to not just use trade embargoes but actually wage war "in the name of freedom and democracy", but only when they presume it to be in their financial or political interests.

Their words may have given Tibetans hope, but their actions speaks louder.

While HHDL is in the British soil, he's only being used to pacify the english-controlled territories there, but without genuine state welcome.

Meanwhile the leader of the biggest terrorist state in existence today, with 1.3 billion victims inside and outside its borders, was given the red carpet treatment, smiles, handshakes, the state banquet... by the whole top english leadership. Meanwhile the media was full of news about the 60th anniversary of the Nuremberg Nazi war trials. But the Chinese Nazional-socialists are free to commit crimes against humanity and get away "scot-free"!

They don't realize it yet, but they're destroying their own soul by such hypocrisy.
