you fools don't shout much against the chinese..it is because of the chinese that you have become literate so much that you got the abilty to air your opinion on the internet reaching far and wide. It is because of the chinese that in so rugged and uninhabitable a place like Tibet, rail track has took its form otherwise even the life sustaining monsoon prefers retreating back to indian plains. It is because of the chinese that tibetans are now enjoying the vitaminous and nutritious fruits and vegetable which are unheard of in the past(exceptions reserved for Kudags). It is because of the chinese that many of your bretherns are enjoying the liberal lives of US, Canada and europe and you get your share of pie from them. It is because of the chinese that we were introduced to democracy that we always celebrate on sept 2nd without being aware of the proper democratic procedures. It is because of the chinese that Buddhism has spread throughout the length and breadth of this earth...you wouldn't be surprised to see negro monks chanting mani(or for money). It is because of the chinese that our Rinpoches have become rinpoche in real sense(Rin: cost, Che: High)building ultra modern monasteries, duping poor peasant children from remote ladakh and arunachal to monk-hood, cladding them with red and maroon robes and letting them to tend gorgious gardens and spacious lawns. It is because of the chinese that you finally realized that you are also a tibetan, that you are a part and parcel in making and marring the image of Tibet. If you were in Tibet still under Ganden Phodrang you would most probably have lived your life among sheeps, goats and yaks and you would be oblivion to Gaden phodrang and vice versa...

Subject: Regarding news of Tibetan Nomads:
Sep 09 2005 08:39 AM

I posted a news snippet on this story in Phayul's message forum almost a month back........the last known about these Nomads is that many of them were rounded up during the night - taken who knows where and many more were seen led away the next morning - beaten black and blue; swollen eyes and faces... My friends visiting the area at the time witnessed all this with their own eyes.

DROKPAS IN KHAM PROTEST TAXATION - Latest phayul news
Aug 10 2005 08:53 AM
Yak Herdsman from Manigango Yerlung area in Derge – Kham rose in revolt against the authorities to protest the newly imposed taxation on their livelihood. For over a year the official demand was that these Drokpas each give an animal for slaughter with the spoils being trucked off to feed the local population elsewhere in China. The compensation would be (only) half the value of the animal. Even the minimal of taxation would not be justifiable. Basic amenities like running water are not available in most of the area. Last year the Herdsman refused to give into this demand. When the authorities tried to enforce this outrageous and senseless taxation this year; the Drokpas burnt down the ‘slaughter house’ as well as the houses of the Chinese officials in protest. The military ‘swooped’ down upon the scene immediately and the district officials are investigating the ‘case’.
All this on the last day of the ‘Annual Horse Racing Festival (Party).
(Communicated to me electronically by friends visiting that whole area).

A slaughterhouse is a place of suffering. We are responsible for the animals' suffering. We are planting seeds for our own suffering in the future ....
The result: No peace, no liberation, no freedom, no compassion, no wisdom ...... no nirvana

Bravo to the nomands who did this, yes China has surpressed Tibet long enough. However the fact that they slaughter dogs and horses is wrong also . These animals were not meant for human food and this dispicable practice must be stopped in China and other Asian countries. The cruelty to these animals is absolutely unacceptable. Period
