Subject: good news but let's not jump to conclusion

After reading the comments from many, I do also agree that the opportunity should be given to the most "vulnerable" first, as outlined in the article. This should be given to genuine Tibetans, and no exceptions should be made.

However, i have searched for this article on the web, and have not found anything related to it. Do we really know this is true??? Also, has the bill even passed the congress? Is this just a proposal? Does this mean that there will be influx of Tibetans from India into Nepal to take advantage of this?

So, brothers and sisters, let's not count our chickens before they are hatched and let's be careful.

if this is true, let's all help those needy brothers and sisters in Nepal, and bring them to the LAND OF THE FREE AND HOME OF THE BRAVE, and give them a life where they can live without any fear of persecution, and threats. Let's devote our financial resources and time to this program and make it a success.

What you say??

THANK YOU USA AND THANK YOU HIS HOLINESS AND THE GOVERNEMNT IN EXILE. We have now to think about smooth immigration of Tibetans not nothing else. WE SHOULD NOW BE CAREFUL NOT TO LET NON-TIBETANS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS SITUATION AS THEY LEARNED ALL THE BENEFICIAL TRICKS OF APPEARING AS TIBETANS IN NEPAL. THERE ARE SHERPAS, KHATSAR, NYESHANG, LAMA'S, GURUNGS, NEWARS AND LOWAS WHO ARE NOT TIBETANS AND THEY HAVE NEPALESE CITIZENSHIP HOWEVER MOST OF THEM APPEAR AND CAN PASS FREELY AS TIBETAN BY BUYING A GREEN BOOK FROM THEIR PALS.
NEPAL IS FULL OF PEOPLE LIKE THAT AND UNDER SUCH SITUATIONS POOR TIBETAN MAY BE LEFT BEHIND.
THE TASK AHEAD IS FULL OF DIFFICULTIES AND PROBLEMS LIKE THESE AND PRECAUTIONS SHOULD BE TAKEN FROM NOW ON.

GREENBOOK SHOULDN'T BE THE ONLY IDENTITY FOR TIBETANS BUT IT SHOULD BE ACCOMPANIED BY BIRTH CERTIFICATE FROM THEIR LOCAL TIBETAN WELFARE OFFICER LETTER AND THEIR PARENTS FULL LIFE HISTORIES AS A TIBETAN. THE DOCUMENTS SHOULD BE REVIEWED THOROUGHLY AND INVESTIGATED IF NEED BE, SO THAT NOBODY EXCEPT TIBETANS CAN TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY IN NEPAL.

It is the Tibetan refugees that made one time Nepal was the biggest carpet exporter. They were benefited through foreign exchange with carpet export which were made by Tibetan refugees.Tibetans set up shops,Factories,School many monastaries. So Nepal was benefited western tourist from the Tibetans. If it is true and when Tibetans leave for America,Nepal will be nothing left for tourist to see except, perhaps, Chinese
troops.

I honestly hope that Congress will pass this speciall Bill to resettle Tibetan refugees from Nepal.Tibetans living in Nepal are now a days feeling dejawu.Their livelyhood is uncertain weather they are rich or poor Tibetans. The Nepal Goverment is impossing un thinkable law towards Tibetan and taking away Freedom movement, freedom of religion and freedom of speech. So what is left there for Tibetans.I am overjoyed for hearing this great news.Wah!!!God bless America and Kushok Sum Bless Tibetans

america,

i have been to america long time now and no matter what others feel, this is a great country, i am a tibetan american. this country has given me the most fundamental things that is essential to all...FREEDOM
america is now realizing this freedom is taken from tibetans since the chinese occupation, i went to nepal to visit last year and tibetans can't hold HH Dalai Lama picture, tibetans are force to close down their office that represents the tibetan refugees, its simple, lets do the math, Nepal is fed up with tibetans, they want tibetans to leave their country and send them back to tibet so they can be tortured, this is happening now people, and America being the generous and caring country willing to bring tibetans in nepal here in usa. tibetans are hard worker and they will find their way on top FREE. america needs peaceful and nonviolent moment and they can teach us do to just that- thank you Pres. geoge bush, thank you Pres. clinton.

tibetans were left abandoned by usa(CIA)during nixon to fight against chinese government, but tibetans are peaceful nonviolent people, its time to pay them back and support them and bring them to america and provide them with everything that is necessary. tibetans need tibetan camp as they wised to preserve their culture so they won't be scattered all around. the article states this is only for TIBETANS so those who are not tibetans shouldn't be considered-
