Apologies for the typing error..I meant left wing liberals and also meant to say that I was not effected personally by the changes made by Rinpoche and not elected as I typed.

I have been reading all this bickering going on and I really don't want to be taking sides; of the Shastries' "he can't do no wrong" approach or for those who simply will find all the wrongs in him and no qualities cause I am neither although I had the honor of actually working with him breifly.

Gosh, are we turning into another shadow of the current US domestic political environment with all the die hard right wing conservatives' blind faith in Bush or for that matter the right wing liberals 'Bush can't do nothing right mantra.

I have been an ex Dharamsala Tibetan gov employee and I understand Rinpcohe has made seemingly undemocratic changes in the structor of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA)and it's branches although I have not been elected cause I was already here by than but than Rinpoche has been elected by the Tibetans in exile although we were not exactly sure of his policies before his election. Now we know where he stands unless he has more up his sleeves and it is our responsibility to relect him if you think he has done right or elect those we think can do a better justice to our beliefs, aspirations and hopes. The ball is in your court friends.

So my friends do justice to our budding democratic system. Stop the bickering, stop accusing our democratically elected leaders because they made a comment you do not subscribe to. To share my personal opinions not that it matters I really don't see anybody on the horizon other than Rinpoche who can live up to the responsibilities.

All the same, I hope Rinpoche doesn't go the Bush doctrine of basically dismissing any entity or org which does not serve our pupose and sound like John Bolten (although he got lucky eventualy) and rather be more sensitive to his people's wishes.

ITS IS WORK OF CHURCHILL, RESEVELT AND STALIN AND THEIR CHAMCHA FRANCE AND CROOK CHINA.

SR WAS 100% RIGHT. I DOUBT MANY PEOPLE WHO COMMENTED ON SR HAS EVER READ THE CHARTER, HISTORY AND POLITICS OF UN.

WHY DID MILOSEVICH TRIED BY INTERNATIONAL COURT OF JUSTICES FOR THE DEATH OF THOUSAND OF PEOPLE WHILE STALIN AND MAO KILLED WHO MORE THEN HITLER WERE NOT TRIED BY UN.

BETTER BE INFORMED ON UN BEFORE MAKING ANY CHILDISH COMMENT.

Bhote ! Where have you been? Are you posting under another ID? There are many who miss your input on issues, including me. Excuse me for busting in, but haven't seen you for quite a while, didn't think you were reading or writing anymore. Maybe I've simply not seen your writing here. Good to read your sound opinions again.

Dear S. RINPOCHE

WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, I DO NOT AGREE TO YOUR MOST OF YOUR COMMENTS.

YES, UN IS NOT DEMOCRATIC INSTITUTION, BUT WITH IT ALL SHORT COMINGS, IT IS THE ONLY INSTITUTION IN THE WORLD WHICH TRIES TO RESOLVE WORLD'S SOCIAL, ECONOMIC, AND POLITICAL PROBLEMS WHERE IT CAN. WHETHER WE LIKE IT OR NOT, UN CAN NEVER BECOME DEMOCRATIC INSTITUTION, IF YOU ARE THINKING OF ONE MAN ONE VOTE OR ONE COUNTRY ONE VOTE. EVEN IN ONE'S DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY, INDIA HAS MORE WEAKNESS THAN UN INSTITUTION.

RINPOCHE, UN IS NEITHER JUDGE NOR COURT WHERE MEMBER COUNTRY SEEK JUSTICS BUT USE THIS INSTITUTION TO GAIN SUPPORT FOR THEIR CAUSE. THEREFORE, UN WILL NEVER COME TO US TO HELP, RATHER WE SHOULD CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE UN HAS TO PAY ATTENTION TO OUR CAUSE.

IT IS REALLY IRRESPONSIBLE STATEMENT BY THE PRIME MINISTER OF TIBET. AND SOMETIME, I DO FEEL RINPOCHE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND POLITICS. NO COUNTRY WILL PAY ANY ATTENTION TO SUCH REMARK FROM RINPOCHE, RATHER CONCERN ABOUT ITS INFLUENCE ON OUR OUR PEOPLE AS MANY YOUNG AND OLD RESPECT YOUR INTELLIGENCE AND KNOWLEDGE.

SECONDLY, YOU LOVE TRUTH AND YOU ARE FIGHTING FOR THE TRUTH. ALL OF YOUR SPEECHES ENDED WITH ' MAY THE ULTIMATE TRUTH OF TIBET BE PREVAILED SOON'. BUT WHAT IS THE ULTIMATE TRUTH. ALL MOST ALL THE TIBETANS BELIEVE ULTIMATE TRUTH IS TIBET'S FREEDOM. HOW COME SO CALL MIDDLE PATH (REGIONAL AUTONOMY) BECAME OUR TRUTH. TIBETAN GOVERNMENT HAVE BEEN CONSTANTLY SAYING THAT TIBET WAS COMPLETE INDEPENDENT COUNTRY, THAT WAS THE TRUTH AND STILL TRUTH FOR WHICH WE ARE FIGHTING FOR.

RINPOCHE, COULD YOU PLEASE EXPLAIN US "TRUTH" FOR WHICH YOU ARE FIGHTING FOR FOR WHICH YOU BELIEVE WILL PREVAIL.

THIRDLY, I WAS VERY DISTRUBED WHEN I HEARD THAT YOUR ADVISED TIBETAN NOT TO PROTEST DURING CHINESE LEADERS VISIT TO INDIA. IS THIS AHIMSA? GANDHI, WHOM YOU TRYING TO IMITATE DID PROTEST BRITIST - THAT WAS AHIMSA, AND YOU TOLD PEOPLE NOT TO DO AHIMSA NOR VIOLENCE. WHAT SHOULD WE DO? SHOULD APPEASE CHINESE LEADERS AS WE DID BEFORE LOST OUR COUNTRY.

THANKS

Samdhong la,. STOP CRITICIZING UNITED NATIONS FOR YOUR FAILURES, IF YOU CAN'T WORK BETTER FOR FREEDOM ITS NOT UNITED NATIOANS FAULT, You should be responsible for the failures of Tibetan freedon struggle and not the UN. You shouldn't slip your tongue wherever you like but think and act before you say. The time for Peace March, Gandhi and Satyagarh are over and nobody cares about it. Start acting more if not leave the chair and seat for other people. GET OUT!

Subject: Sour grapes
Aug 11 2005 01:10 PM

SR personifies we Tibetans in his remarks on the UN. We are like the fox in Aesop who presume the grapes that we cannot reach and have as sour.

Going through the happenings of all these years during his watch at the helm of the Tibetan administration in Dhasa, SR really seems to have a problem with his tolerance of opinion besides his own. This is really worrying.

SR may seem to be the most suitable candidate for Katri with all his knowledge, experience and dedication. But statesmanship is much more than just the happy confluence of these attributes in a man. In the case of SR, it may be his very upbringing as a dyed-in-the-wool Gelungpa Trulku which is at fault in making him intolerant of the opinions of others. The mindset of the higher clergy in all the religions of the world are dead sure about what they belief. Their minds are brimful with the dogmas of their school or tradition, leaving no room at all for other opinions. Be it Calvin in Geneva, Savonarola in Florence, Zwingli in Zurich, Khomenei in Iran, Hasan Al Turabi in Sudan or Mullah Mohamed in Afganistan, and for that matter SR in Dharamsala, they share a common thread in their way of doing things. They are never democratic. They think they only know what is best for the people. As they know already, where is the need for a referendum, plebiscite or election.

It is up to the Tibetans in their entirety to think whether their fate would be safe in the hands of religious dinosaurs like SR with their disproportionately small brains compared to their bodies.

United Nation is an organization, with bureaucrats who are under the control of powerful nations having veto power, even the bloody PROC is one of them, then how? shall we expect support and justice from such organization, that is the reason Rinpoche said UNO is useless.

ADVENT OF BUDDHISM IN TIBET HERALDED THE DOWNFALL OF TIBETAN NATION. THIS REINCARNATION OR TRULKU IS ONLY FOUND IN TIBET AND NOT ELSE WHERE IN OTHER BUDDHIST COUNTRY.

WITH CONCEPT OF REINCARNATION OR TRULKU PLAYED THE DOMINANT ROLE IN POLITICS OF TIBET. MANY OF THESE WERE PETTY POLITICS SOLEY TO BENEFIT THE PARTICULAR TRULKU LADRANG AND GIVING SECOND FIDDLE TIBETAN NATION.

NO WONDER MANY OF THESE TRULKU HAVE THEIR LINEAGE NAME GIVEN BY CHINESE EMPEROR.
