Subject: DROKPAS IN KHAM RISE IN REVOLT AGAINST TAXATION
Aug 10 2005 09:18 AM

While on this subject how about this fresh piece of news:
Yak Herdsman from Manigango Yerlung area in Derge – Kham rose in revolt against the authorities to protest the newly imposed taxation on their livelihood. For over a year the official demand was that these Drokpas each give an animal for slaughter with the spoils being trucked off to feed the local population elsewhere in China. The compensation would be (only) half the value of the animal. Even the minimal of taxation would not be justifiable. Basic amenities like running water are not available in most of the area. Last year the Herdsman refused to give into this demand. When the authorities tried to enforce this outrageous and senseless taxation this year; the Drokpas burnt down the ‘slaughter house’ as well as the houses of the Chinese officials in protest. The military ‘swooped’ down upon the scene immediately and the district officials are investigating the ‘case’.
All this on the last day of the ‘Annual Horse Racing Festival (Party).
(Communicated to me electronically by friends visiting that whole area).

weather china repaired potala or norbulinga doesn't matter much to us.look at what british did to india.built the entire railway network and built roads and many british buildings so to assume china will be in tibet just coz they repaired potala is being shortsightedness.Tibetan's shud never GIVE UP no matter what the chinese do or say.tibet is our land n will remain ours if we fight for it.
and thanx to Mr.leonard for exposing the facts about the chinese brutal treatment against the tibetans in tibet.
hope to hear from more from you.

A billion dollar prize for giving correct answer to the following question.

Why the world call China a barbaric country?

China can give the best answer but China will not get the prize. Why?

How nice it would be if UNO gives a special award to China for its barbaric activities for Tibet and its people.

World is sending a bad message: if you aren’t strong, you are bound to be wrong. Though it seems that terrorism has no ultimate win, it’s an honor choice for those who are being ignored of their peaceful approach and seems for them there's no solution anyway. Are we Tibetans ready to commit some serious damage? We shouldn't forget those martyrs who've given their lives fighting the PLA. I think the time for it is coming soon...fcuk this workd anyway!
