RTYC Toronto urging Canadian Prime Minister Martin to bring up Human Right issues in Tibet on his first official visit to china

Prime Minister Paul Martin is the first Canadian prime minister to meet with H.H The Dalai Lama in April of 2004, weeks prior to kalachakra for world peace in Toronto. Paul Martin says he wants to make sure Canada plays an important role in the world. Previous Prime Ministers Jean Chretien and Brian Mulroney did not meet with H. H. The Dalai Lama on his previous visits.

Prime Minister Martin has said that the dollars to be made in China do not eclipse concerns about human rights abuses -- a topic he said he intends to bring up when he visits China on a trade mission between January 14 - 23, 2005. After much effort put towards the campaign for the release of Tenzin Delek Rinpoche, we have started another campaign to urge Prime Minister Paul Martin and Trade Minister Jim Peterson to consider he human right issues in Tibet. We also request the Prime Minister to take active role in initiating negotiation between H.H. The Dalai Lama and Chinese Government on status of Tibet.

Mail or fax them to the address provided on the form no later than January 14, 2005. Your smallest effort can make a big difference.
