DHARAMSHALA, July 16: The current title holder of Mr. Tibet Tenzin Nyima is set to compete in the Mr. Global 2018 title in Bangkok, Thailand. The competition will see 40 men representing various nations around the world, the organizers said.

Nyima who won the maiden Mr. Tibet pageant here in October last year is among the contestants selected to vie for the coveted Mr. Global title in the Thai capital scheduled to begin from July 21.

The 25-year-old is a law student based in Bangalore. He was born in Tibet to a herding family and had come to exile in India where he received education in a Tibetan refugee school in Northern India.

Nyima said that he feels immense pride in representing his beloved nation and feels gratitude for the help and support he received during what he called a “long and tough journey”. He said, “Most of my Childhood was actually spent as a shepherd. I want to thank everyone that has shown me support during my journey. It is a true honour to be a part of Mr. Global 2018.”

The reigning Mr. Tibet is a youth leader advocating the importance of education through ‘The Global Tibetan Student Union’, an association that he co-founded and currently presides as the President.
