Tibet Team loses to defending champions Abkhazia
Phayul[Thursday, May 31, 2018 16:12]
DHARAMSHALA, MAY 31: The Tibetan national football team lost its first game of the 2018 CONIFA (Confederation of Independent Football Associations) World cup in London. The Tibetan team played against the defending champions Abkhazia.

The final score was Abkhazia 3 - 0 Tibet.

Abkhazia is an independent state at the Eastern coast of the Black Sea, only recognized by Russia, Nicaragua, Venezuela, and other unrecognized nations. They declared sovereignty in 1990 and were first recognized in 2008 by Russia.

Georgia still today declares that Abkhazia is a part of Georgia. Regardless of the official status of recognition Abkhazia is de-facto independent and self-governed.
