DHARAMSHALA, May 10: With the new tenure of the 15th Kashag (Cabinet) about to begin and the oath ceremony for the same set to take place by the end of May, reshuffling and appointments for key offices under the Kashag led by Prime Minister Lobsang Sangay is underway.

Tashi Phuntsok, Secretary (information) at the Department of Information and International Relations since February 2012, has been appointed the new Representative at Office of Tibet in Brussels, Belgium. He will take the reins of the Brussels office from July, 2016. His predecessor at the post was Kalsang Gyaltsen, who served as the acting Representative of Office of Tibet in the Belgian capital.

Earlier last week, Sangay appointed Penpa Tsering, his opponent in the recently concluded elections the new Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to the Americas putting to rest speculations that the Speaker of the TPiE may yet be a member of his new cabinet.

Offices of Tibet are official agencies of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Central Tibetan Administration. Currently there are 11 offices in prominent locations such as Washington, London, Geneva, Tokyo, and Taipei among others, and 2 additional offices (Liaison Office for Latin America and the Bureau du Tibet, Paris) under the Washington and Brussels offices respectively.
