DHARAMSHALA, March 14: In what comes as a relief for Tibetans and followers of the Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama the international group reportedly responsible for spearheading protests against the Tibetan leader worldwide has disbanded, announcing withdrawal of all the demonstrations.

According to its website, the International Shugden Community (ISC) has called off all their demonstrations and announced the dissolution of the community.

The last message reads, “The Directors of the ISC previously announced that from Dec 1, 2015 they had decided to completely stop organizing demonstrations against the Dalai Lama. Now, from the March 10, 2016 the ISC itself will dissolve, including its websites.”

Len Foley, Representative of the ISC added, ‘may everybody be happy’ to conclude the ISC chapter.

Speaking at the sideline of UN Geneva event, His Holiness told Reuters, “I am aware of the decision by the ISC to disband.”

"Your article was something complete, holistic sort of presentation, it was very helpful," referring to the Reuters investigation on Shugden’s ties with China.

The Tibetan leader who just returned from the US maintain that it is the right and the choice of an individual to practice Dorje Shugden, a controversial deity that the Tibetan leader himself worshipped and later stopped due to its “sectarian” nature. “I myself also worshipped that out of ignorance. But I came to the realization that the deity was very negative, very harmful,” he said.
