New Delhi, December 16 - Senior leader of the Congress party snubbed China by refusing the so-called China-India Friendship Award from the visiting Chinese Premiere Wen Jiabao yesterday.

The Rajya Sabha Member from Jammu and Kashmir was to be honored with the award along with 9 others including CPI(M) Politburo member Sitaram Yechury and journalist and author Pallavi Aiyar but Singh did not turn up for the award ceremony.

Sources said Singh refused to accept the award as he was wary of being judged as a supporter of China.
