Tibetans to honor His Holiness with a Golden Seal

Dharamsala, August 10 - Tibetans will honor His Holiness the Dalai Lama with a Golden Seal on the Tibetan Democracy Day at Bylakuppe where the Tibetans will meet for the first "general body meeting . The Award will be presented to His Holiness the Dalai Lama for leading Tibetans and establishing the Tibetan democracy for the past decades in exile.
 
Briefing the media about the Tibetan leadership meeting from Aug 26-31 at Bylakuppe, Mr Penpa Tsering, speaker of the Tibetan parliament-in-exile, said, "It will be a big day for us and we are celebrating it in a big way at Bylakuppe Tibetan Settlement in Karnataka. We will felicitate His Holiness for his many years of selfless service to the Tibetan people and present a golden seal to him."
 
According to the organizers, around 20 parliamentarians from 12 countries are likely to participate in this event. Around 25,000 people from various parts of the world will gather in the Tibetan settlement of Bylakuppe to attend the historic event.

Bylakuppe, near Mysore is the biggest Tibetan settlement in India. The Tibetan community is holding an event of this magnitude for the first time in 5O years of exile.
