Better late than never - McLeod Ganj received its first snow fall of the winter causing some inconvenience to traffic and pedestrians. However, Dharamsala is dependent on snowfall for its water, and snowfall is usually seen as a rescue from summer's water shortage problem. Phayul photo/Phuntsok Chomphel

Google has threatened to pull out of China after a series of cyber attacks originating from that nation. This week the company announced it would stop censoring Google.cn and within hours it lifted its own self-censorship policy in China thereby allowing Chinese internet users for the first time to access "taboo" topics like the Dalai Lama, the Tiananmen massacre and the Falun Gong. Dharamsala, October 21: Three Nobel peace laureates - Jody Williams, Mairead Corrigan Maguire and Shirin Ebadi will discuss issues related to world peace with fellow Nobel laureate His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the Tibetan Children’s Village school here on Tuesday.

The three Nobel laureates will be hosting the PeaceJam Youth Conference called “Day of Leadership & Action” with Tibetan school children. The event will be attended by 200 Tibetan school children from different branch schools of TCV between Class XI and XII. The students will spend a day in apprenticeship with the winners of the prestigious peace prize.

“The main objectives of this event is to create future leaders who would not only lead their country but also create an atmosphere of peace and harmony in the world,” Mr Tenzing Sangpo, Education Director of TCV schools, told Voice of Tibet radio service.

PeaceJam's program is built on a pyramid of three ideas: Education, Inspiration and Action. " The mission of the Peace Jam Foundation is to create young leaders committed to positive change in themselves, their communities and the world through the inspiration of Nobel Peace Laureates who pass on the spirit, skills, and wisdom they embody," the foundation’s official site says.

This will be the 3rd PeaceJam session to be held in Asia, and TCV school was the venue of the previous two.
