The Dalai Lama says there will be a 'setback'' in the Tibetan cause when he dies. The 74-year-old spiritual leader said that when he dies, 'there will be a setback, there's no doubt,'' but added that a very healthy, cultivated new generation is rising with the potential to lead. 3 Tibetans executed in Lhasa : former political prisoners' group
Phayul[Wednesday, October 21, 2009 19:51]
Dharamsala, October 21 – Three Tibetans have been reportedly executed yesterday at 11 AM (Beijing Time) in Lhasa, according to the GuChuSum ex political prisoner’s movement. However, none of the Tibetan right groups and organizations which monitor human rights situation in Tibet have yet confirmed the news at the time of this report going online.

The Guchusum said the three had been sentenced to death for their alleged involvement in the last year’s protests in the Tibetan capital.

The organization of former political prisoners identified one of them as Lobsang Tenzin from Lhasa. The other two were a woman from Nyemo County near Lhasa and a man from Ngaba County in Amdo. However, it appears that none of the three had been listed earlier among persons sentenced to death in the records kept by the Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy or the exile Tibetan government.

The organization said the Chinese authorities have beefed up security in the city and have launched a massive arrest drive fearing repercussions of the execution.
