Dharamsala, July 23 – His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be awarded the honorary citizenship of Polish capital Warsaw next week, a spokesperson for the Tibetan leader told Indo Asian News Service.
"On the invitation of the Warsaw administration, His Holiness (the Dalai Lama) is visiting Poland next week. He will be conferred honorary citizenship of Warsaw July 29," Tenzin Taklha, joint secretary of the office of His Holiness, was quoted by IANS as saying.
China warns countries against hosting the Tibetan leader saying the Tibetan leader is trying to split China. His Holiness the Dalai Lama who is admired widely in the world says that his visits should not harm the relationship between his hosts and China, and maintains that the bilateral ties of his host countries with China should take precedence. Most recently, China warned the mayor of Paris not to honor the Tibetan leader with its honorary citizenship which the Tibetan leader was awarded despite warnings from China.
His Holiness will give a public talk on Value of Education and Universal Responsibility at the University of Warsaw, according to the official website of the Tibetan leader. The 74 year old Tibetan leader last visited Poland in December 2008 to attend the 25th anniversary of the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Polish labour leader Lech Walesa. This is his fourth visit to the former communist country.
His Holiness will also visit Frankfurt in Germany and Lausanne in Switzerland.

. His Holiness will participate in a symposium on the theme “One World One Mind One Heart” on the subject of global responsibilities with selected scientists and other personalities.
His Holiness will give a public talk on The Art of Living
before heading for Lausanne, Switzerland, wherehe will confer Medicine Buddha initiation
and give teachings on Lama Tsongkhapa's The Three Principal Aspects of the Paths (lam ghi tsowo nampa soom)
. He will also accept a long life offering ceremony from the Tibetan Communities of Europe.
