33rd Sarvadharm Sadbhav Sammelan on Tibet in New Delhi

New Delhi, May 12 - In solidarity with the Tibetan people's struggle for freedom of religion, faith and the ongoing crisis in Tibet, religious figures and leaders of different beliefs held the '33rd Sarvadharm Sadbhav Sammelan' at Constitutional Club, New Delhi today.

The gathering was organized under the banner of Akhil Bhartiya Sant Ekta Andolan Parishad and Guru Goraksh Nath Manav Kalyan Sansthan.

The program started at 3 pm with a prayer and garland offering on the portrait of late Sushri Nirmala Deshpande, following which His Eminence Mahant Kailash Nath 'Hathyogi' chaired the program and addressed the gathering of about 150 people from different faiths.

The speakers included Mahamandleshwar Pragyanand Ji Maharaj, Swami Madhanvanand Ji, Swami Shivanand Ji, Swami Siddh Swaroop Ji, Lama Lobsang, Bishop Karam Masih, Father M.S. Luca, Dr. Mufti Muquarram Sahib (Shahi Imam Fatehpuri), Gyani Gurmeet Singh, Kalekar (Jews), Mudgal Swami (Indian Freedom Fighter) and Former Election Commissioner of India Mr. J.V.G. Krishnamurti among others.

All the dharmacharyas and learned eminent religious figures present in the 'Sarvadharm Sadbhav Sammelan' conference unanimously proposed and adopted the following resolutions:
  • That the conference paid tribute to late Sushri Nirmala Deshpandey ji and offered the title of 'Sant' before her name.
  • To protect all the religions, religious places and religious leaders.
  • To protect all the pilgrim and prayer sites, and places of worship.
  • Efforts for world peace and humanity.
  • To guard and protect the nurturer and motherland of everyone.
  • To strongly condemn the ongoing extensive and systematic denunciation of any world religious figure including His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
  • That all powerful nations in this world must respect the religion, motherland and freedom of every individual person. In order to create tension free and harmonious human society in this world, the existing trend of bullying smaller nations and illegal occupation of nation such as Tibet must be relinquished.
  • The conference also demanded an immediate end to the ongoing genocide in Tibet and claimed that the UN Human Rights Council must inspect the state of innocent, peaceful protesters who are killed and injured in Tibet. In addition they called for the immediate release of all the imprisoned monks and nuns.
  • Efforts shall also be made to protect and promote the Indian culture, Sanskrit and regional languages. For world peace, humanity and respect for all religions, such conferences will be held far and wide.
