Calgary, Canada, March 14 - Today was like any other ordinary day outside the Calgary Chinese Consulate on 6th Avenue as the local Tibetan Community of Alberta (TCA) members peacefully protested until a newly-immigrated 15 year old Tibetan refugee from India was forcefully dragged, confined against his will, and physically abused by Chinese Consulate employees inside their barricaded compound.

According to the boy, he was draping an oversized banner saying "Save Tibet" with friends on the rooftop when several Chinese men sneaked out from a secret door and grabbed him. Once inside the compound, six or seven of them dragged the underage teenager straight down into the basement garage area while vocally shouting and physically shoving him roughly.

He remembered one of the smoking Chinese men in green almost punched his body until several of them stopped the would-be abuser. The boy's arms and hands were twisted and bounded, as they torn and scrapped his blue jeans.

They kept shouting propaganda phrases like "Tibet belonged to China", "We modernized Tibet", and "We have no respect for your Dalai Lama in Tibet!" One even yelled, "If you are in Tibet this moment, we would have shot you in the head!" The men also tried to rip the taped pro-Tibetan slogans off the boy's chest and abdomen.

Outside the building, the helpless, frightened and agitated crowd stormed the main entrance by screaming "Release our child!", "Let the kid go! He's only 15!", “Human rights!”, and "Shame on you, China! Shame on the Chinese Olympic!"

Due to Calgary’s busy rush hour traffic, it took the police over twenty to thirty hair-raising minutes before they could enter the consulate and negotiated for the unconditional release of the boy.

15 year-old Gurmey may be scared, terrorized and shaken up, but his undying spirit for Tibet's freedom was never compromised! His battle-scarred black T-shirt proclaimed, "Until the day of my death... to my very last breath!"
