Polish MPs warn China of Olympics Boycott
By Email[Saturday, March 15, 2008 11:26]
Warsaw, Mars 14 - Polish Parliamentary Group for Tibet has today issued an official letter to the Chinese ambassador in Poland, Mr.Sun Rongmin, requesting the Chinese authorities to immediately stop the repression ongoing in Tibet since March 10, free the arrested demonstrators and all the Tibetan prisoners, as well as to start without more delay the 7th round of talks with His Holiness the Dalai Lama in order to peacefully resolve the Tibetan issue.

The Polish MPs in their letter have warned China, stressing up that “IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO BOYCOTT THE OLYMPICS”. The copy of the letter has been sent to the Polish Olympic Committee, Polish President, Polish PM, FA minister, the Speaker of the Parliament and to the media.

Public opinion in Poland is extremely shocked by the brutality of the Chinese police and PLA suppressing the peaceful demonstrations of the innocent Tibetan monks. The President of the Parliamentary Group for Tibet, Mrs. Beata Bublewicz is receiving many letters every day requesting the Polish government and Parliament to take a firm stand and support the Tibetan issue. A rally against the Chinese repression in Tibet is planned for forthcoming Sunday, March 16 and will take place in front of the Chinese embassy in Warsaw at 1pm.
