Loten Namling joins SEPULTURA to play for Tibet

To the powerful beats of SEPULTURA, Loten sang the haunting melodies of Tibet and rapping the ancient saying “Tibetans are happier in Tibet. Chinese are Happier in China”

Sélestat: In the fully packed hall of Les Tanzmatten in the French city of Sélestat, the world famous heavy metal band SEPULTURA of Brazil and the Tibetan singer Loten Namling jammed live for free Tibet

SEPULTURA and Loten Namling played last week at the Lez'arts Schenique Festival in Sélestat. The festival is organised annually and apart from music, it has a great deal of concern about the problems in the world. They do it by integrating music and creating awareness about various causes both locally and around the world.

This year, on the eve of a major sport and political event of the “2008 Olympics in Beijing", the festival’s theme concentrated on Tibet

The three days’ festival saw 25 bands participating from all over the world unanimously supporting the just cause of Tibet. The main star attraction of the festival is SEPULTURA from Brazil, who has been in the music field for the last 20 years over which the ad became a cult for millions of fans around the world.

SEPULTURA too have been supporting environmental concerns and politically oppressed people by the power of their music.

This is the first time that they have come across a Tibetan musician and described the encounter with Loten as "incredible experience".

For Loten it was a new door opening for Tibetan cause to the millions of hard core SEPULTURA fans. To the powerful beats of SEPULTURA, Loten sang the haunting melodies of Tibet and rapping the ancient saying “Tibetans are happier in Tibet. Chinese are Happier in China."

SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser in his latest update, has said, "I hope that our effort here, some how, can help the cause of Tibet. FREE TIBET!"

Andreas said that he was impressed by the incredible voice of Loten being used in the middle of a song to make a quick speech about the situation in Tibet and his discontent about the Chinese Government.

“It was very emotional….,” he said.

The group had earlier played in Germany before joining the French festival.

SEPULTURA is currently on world tour.
