Warsaw, June 22: To present case of Tibet at the Concert for Freedom, Poland, Polish Movement for a Free Tibet, with a collaboration of Gu-Chu-Sum Movement of Tibet, will join the freedom concert today at the Polish capital, Warsaw.
The Concert is a show composed of freedom songs, movies and, documents describing totalitarian regimes, a cruelty of war and the fight for Peace.
Quotations from the well-known peace figures like: John Paul II, Lech Walesa, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela, Vaclav Havel will be presented.
The countries involved, among others, are; Poland, Estonia, Chechnya, Byelorussia, Ukraine, TIBET, Palestine, Cuba, Korea, Sudan, and China.
The Concert is aimed at telling the story of Freedom, answering the question what Freedom is and expressing disagreement to the lack of Freedom, and to protest against the still existing totalitarian regimes, as well as against wars, which make no sense and result only in death.
The organizers will provoke reflection in participants on what values are really essential for them.
The guests would be told to ask themselves the question whether they are ready to involve in defending Independence (economic, national, of the State) if threatened right now, if without hesitation they would be able to sacrifice their lives for the Freedom of themselves, their families and nation.
The Concert will have four different levels.
Through the texts of the songs sang by famous singers and artists, the organizers will try to depict and define Freedom, and at the same time explain the biggest failure of the humanity, the crime against Peace – a war.
At the concert, tributes will be paid to people who lost their lives defending Freedom; like Priest Jerzy Popieluszko (murdered by the secret Polish services in 1984), Petra Prochazkowa (Chechnya) or, Anna Politowska (Russian journalist murdered recently by the Soviet secret service).
The concert will introduce activists and oppositionists who are currently operating within existing totalitarian regimes around the world. And some of these activists will explain why they defend the ideals of Freedom at the cost of their lives.
According to organizers, the concert is an expression of their support for the nations in the world which still have to fight for freedom.

STATEMENT OF THE POLISH MOVEMENT FOR A FREE TIBET
To Whom It May Concern
Warsaw, 5 June 2007
This is to inform you that Polish Movement for a Free Tibet, with a collaboration of Gu-Chu-Sum Movement of Tibet will join the Concert for Freedom in Poland.
Polish Movement for a Free Tibet was created by my self in 2000. Although never officially registered as an Association in Poland, because of the delicate situation of some of its members who are politicians, it has operated in a shadow, more or less actively depending on the period. My frequent travels and journalistic occupations weakened my role as the co-ordinator.
International Forum for a Free Tibet held recently in Turin has hugely inspired us to reactivate our activities in Poland. My work for the Polish Parliament will also invite me to spend more time in the country and thus allow to take care in more extensive manner about the Movement it self.
We enthusiastically join the Concert for Freedom and congratulate its organisers the idea.
The importance of the values promoted by them is invaluable both for the sad present Polish political situation as for the Universe.
Tibet is an occupied land which needs much more the true Freedom Fighters than so called “friends” making business on promoting “Shangri la” all over the world. It is also time for ALL the Tibetans to wake up. Defending the Political Freedom of Tibet is much more important than promoting its cultural or religious values because it is the Freedom which is the core of the matter and the first link. Everything else is a pure hypocrisy.
The spirit of the Concert for Freedom perfectly reflects this optic.
We take this opportunity to thank Gu-Chu-Sum Movement of Tibet for a fruitful collaboration as well as the participation in this, particular event. We are highly honoured to serve the political prisoners of Tibet, the patriotic Tibetans in Tibet and in Diaspora and His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
We dedicate ourselves to the Freedom of Tibet.
Long Life to His Holiness the Dalai Lama!
