Brussels Film weekend dedicated to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the people of Tibet

Brussels, May 7 - A Film weekend dedicated to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the people of Tibet was organized by Les Amis du Tibet in co-operation with the Bureau du Tibet. The film weekend offered to visitors three carefully selected documentary films on Tibet in the Pathé Palace of Brussels.

The weekend showcased the films L’evasion du Dalai Lama (The Escape of Dalai Lama) and La prisonnière de Lhassa (The prisoner of Lhasa) by Marie Louville, Dalai Lama: derrière le sourire (Dalai Lama: behind the smile) by Jean-Marc Duchesne and the travelling exhibition A Long Look Homeward of the Tibet Museum in Dharamsala.

During the opening of the film weekend, on Saturday 6 May, Ms. Tenzin Wangmo Dunchu, Coordinator of Bureau du Tibet (EU-Coordination Office) presented a brief biography of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the meaning of the Middle Way Approach proposed by His Holiness and adopted democratically by the Tibetan people.

Mr. Marc Liegeois, President of Les Amis du Tibet, commented enthusiastically on the result of the film weekend. There was high attendance from the Belgian community which is looking forward to the forthcoming visit of His Holiness to Belgium in three weeks.
