The Dalai Lama says there will be a 'setback'' in the Tibetan cause when he dies. The 74-year-old spiritual leader said that when he dies, 'there will be a setback, there's no doubt,'' but added that a very healthy, cultivated new generation is rising with the potential to lead. Wen Jiabao unwelcome in New York City
RTYC, NY & NJ[Saturday, September 27, 2008 01:29]
New York, September 25 - As the world leaders came to New York City to attend the United Nations General Assembly, Regional Tibetan Youth Congress of NY & NJ along with the local Tibetans and SFT made sure that one of those leaders was not welcome here in the free world. This moment actually came when RTYC NY & NJ President, Mr. Tsering Palden along with a few other fellow Tibetans surprised the Chinese Premier with the Tibetan National Flags and shouted "Free Tibet" amidst an unexpected crowd of Pro China, seemingly welcoming Wen Jiabao. The opportunity came when Wen Jiabao surrounded by security, instead of getting into Waldorf Astoria Hotel, crossed the Park Ave to greet and please the flag waving Chinese people who had gathered to greet him. His security tried to push them away but the Tibetans didn't budge an inch back. Instead they showed how unwelcome he was here. The surprise unwelcome incident forced the security to cut short Wen Jiabao's greetings to the pro Chinese welcoming group. He surely wanted to create scene similar to his visit to the earthquake-shattered towns and cities across northern Sichuan Province but he didn't get to hear anyone calling him Grandpa Wen here in New York this time. It was sure that the incident had forced him to think of Tibet once again if he ever wants to walk free outside of China.

When the Chinese Diplomat Security team couldn't do anything against these brave and peaceful Tibetan protesters, they took lots of pictures of the Tibetan protesters and threaten to take actions later.

New York Tibetans and supporters gathered outside the Waldorf Astoria Hotel for last three days of Wen Jiabao's stay here. More than 100 Tibetans and supporters came on all the three days his stay from September 23 to September 25. We followed him where ever he was - gathering outside his hotel in the mornings and evenings, and then chasing him to the United Nations. We made sure that our slogans were loud enough and our gatherings big enough to send a clear message that Wen Jiabao was not welcome in a free world where people enjoy and cherish the freedom of speech, the freedom of assembly and the freedom to practice one's religion.

Outside the United Nations, we met with other protesters such as the Falun Gong, the Vietnamese, the Sudanese, the Burmese amongs others. This clearly shows the brutality of this regime which not only persecutes Tibetans and its own people such as the Falun Gong group, Chinese human rights activists etc, but also supports other brutal regimes such as the ones in Burma, Sudan and Zimbabwe. Without a doubt, Wen Jiabao got a taste of what many people feel of the brutal Chinese Communist regime. He and his other communist colleagues will never be welcome unless there is a change in their policy.
