Tibetan youth club donates to CM relief fund for West Sikkim landslide last month

DHARAMSHALA, October 29: The Tibetan Youth Club, Gangtok in a meeting with Shri. Kunga Nima Lepcha, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Sports and Law, the government of Sikkim, donated a one lakh thirteen thousand rupees toward CM Relief Fund, Sikkim for the people affected in the landslide last month in Tsong Yuksam, West Sikkim.

The donation, the group said, symbolizes His Holiness affirmation during the 34th Kalchakra initiations that he will live for 113 years and continue to reincarnate to serve humanity.

The club raised the fund through a raffle event in collaboration with Tashi Delek Kyiduk and other donors.

The Publicity Secretary Shri Kunga Choephel thanked everyone who purchased raffle tickets and for helping the people of Tsong Yuksam in need.

The Chief Minister who visited the Tsong village last month to take stock of the damage assured total rehabilitation to Tsong Villagers.

The landslide on September 16 left a total of 76 homes damaged in numerous degrees because of the landslides in addition to the loss of livestock and crops.

The youth club which is part of the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress (RTYC), Sikkim said the gesture is to nurture the bond between the local and Tibetan people.
