DHARAMSHALA, April 11: The Jalandhar chapter of Students for a Free Tibet (SFT) has won the first prize in a Cultural Festival in the Lovely Professional University.

“At this critical point when over 100 people have immolated themselves for the freedom of Tibet and return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, it is extremely important for all the Tibetans and supporters to continue highlighting the issue in whichever way possible,” said Trishma Vasudev, SFT Jalandhar Co-ordinator.

Over twenty countries took part in the festival ‘One World’ (April 8-9) where each country showcased their rich culture. Tibet was one of the countries represented by SFT to display its rich culture heritage through photo and art exhibition and traditional dance.

“We have worked very hard for many days to present Tibet as a nation in one of the famous cultural festival One World in Jalandhar … and it’s a great joy to represent our rich culture and history in front of 30,000 people,” said Tenzin Lodoe.

The Tibetan students received Rs 10,000 as a winning prize.
