An 83-year-old Tibetan woman from Richfield who had gone missing when she went for a walk Friday was found safe Sunday morning in St. Paul.

Pemba, a Tibetan woman who has no last name, was spotted by a St. Paul police officer near Marshall Avenue and Wheeler Street around 7 a.m. Sunday.

Even though she had been missing for about 48 hours, she was found to be in good health and was reunited with her family, Richfield police dispatcher Jay Burns said.

“She’s just fine,” Burns said. “No foul play. She was just walking.”

Burns said Pemba told them she slept in bushes and walked since she left her home in the 6300 block of Vincent Avenue S., around 7:30 a.m. Friday for her daily walk.
