Dharamsala, June 22 – The Regional chapters of the Tibetan Youth Congress across the North America met in Toronto, Canada for their two day Annual meeting which concluded Sunday.
The session was attended by the organization’s President Tsewang Rinzin and delegates from chapters in San Francisco, Washington D.C., Toronto, Vermont, Minnesota, Portland, Vancouver and New York & New Jersey.
Senator Consiglio Di Nino who is the Co-Chair of Parliamentary Friends of Tibet Canada attended the concluding session of the meeting. Speaking to the gathering, Senator Consiglio Di Nino said, “We hope you all will live as free Tibetans in your home country and you are not alone in the struggle.”
The meeting provided the delegates to engage in discussions on the most effective means to carry out the NGO’s future activities and to review the resolutions passed in their previous annual meeting, the 9th one in Minnesota USA, according to a press release issued by TYC on Sunday.
The meeting included discussions on the organization’s commitment towards non-violence as their guiding principle and spreading awareness on the coming Kalon Tripa elections.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for an interaction between the former TYC members and the younger leaders on how to successfully carry forward the goals of the organization.
