Dharamsala, December 17 – The 9th session of the 14th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile will be held from 8 to 20 March 2010, the parliament secretariat announced yesterday. The current Tibetan Parliament in exile, formerly called the Assembly of the Tibetan People’s Deputies, comprises of 43 members.

The Tibetan legislators will discuss and approve the budget of the exile Tibetan government for the 2010 – 2011 fiscal year.

The members of Tibetan parliament meet for two sessions a year with an interval of six months.

The last session of the Tibetan parliament had to be wrapped up entirely short of its final concluding session as members staged a furious and dramatic walkout over the Standing Committee’s decision to sanction travel allowance for a fellow member of the parliament.
