Germany, March 10 – The Association of Tibetans in Germany (VTD) launched its second peace march on German soil under “50 Years of Violent Suppression”.
More than 62 people, including 4 German Tibetan supporters, walked for two days covering a distance of 44 kilometres between the city of Potsdam and Berlin, Germany. On their way, they undertook different actions such as handing over protest letters to the offices of Bombardier Transportation GmbH and Microsoft, who have business engagements in Tibet.
The marchers held a minute’s silence at the German Resistance Memorial for all victims of totalitarian regimes worldwide on the 8th of March.
Yesterday, the Tibetans did 24-hour hunger strike in a tent set up right in front of the Chinese Embassy.
Demonstrations were carried out today in various parts of Germany, primarily in Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Bamberg, Coburg, Hamburg, Munich, Münster, Konstanz, Rosenheim, Schwäbisch Hall, Stuttgart, Freiburg, Dresden, Bremen, Würzburg, Koblenz, etc.
