Chinese Embassy stormed
The Chinese Embassy security personnel had difficulty stopping and controlling Tibetan Youth Congress activists who stormed into the Embassy compound this morning. Some 30 activists from Youth Congress staged demonstrations inside the embassy demanding immediate withdrawal of the recently implemented “Measures on Reincarnation of “Living Buddhas” issued by the State Administration of Religious Affairs of China. Tibetan Youth activists storm New Delhi Chinese Embassy
At 1100 hrs this morning, around 30 Tibetan Youth Congress activists stormed into the Chinese embassy in New Delhi, India. Some even managed to climb 6-ft gate to get inside the embassy. TYC Vice President Dhondup Dorjee told Phayul that the protest demonstration was to demand immediate withdrawal of the China State Administration of Religious Affairs’ so called “Order No. 5”: Measures for the Reincarnation of “Living Buddhas”, which was put into effect on September 1 this year. The activists also painted “Free Tibet” graffiti in English and Chinese on the embassy walls. Around 20 activists are reportedly detained by the Delhi Police.
