New Delhi, May 26: Central Schools for Tibetans (CST) or Central Tibetans Schools have secured third position in this year’s all India Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 12 result with an 86.24 pass percentage.
The above pass percentage is the collective result of nine senior secondary Central Tibetans schools across India.
Although ranking third in all India in the exams, the pass percentage has, however, slackened by over 6 per cent as compared to their last year’s result. According to Tibetan Children’s Educational and Welfare Fund’s comparative summary of CBSE Class 12 results of Tibetan Schools in India in year 2006, the CST’s overall pass percentage stood at 92.61.
According to CBSE, Kendriya Vidyalayas (Central Schools) have topped this year’s CBSE result with 93.14 pass percentage. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) are at second with a 90.11 pass percentage.
Central Tibetan Schools Administration (CTSA), New Delhi administers and manages the Central Schools for Tibetans in India for the education and training of Tibetan refugee children. It also preserves and promotes Tibetan culture, heritage and tradition.
CTSA was set up as an autonomous organisation by a resolution of the Government of India, Ministry of Education and Youth Services (Now Ministry of Human Resource Development) in 1961. The administration body also runs number of other primary and secondary schools in different pockets of India.
