Tibetans in Italy celebrates 17th Anniversary of Noble Peace prize to His Holiness

Tibetan community in Italy commemorated the Human Rights day and celebrated 17 anniversary of Noble Peace price to H.H the Dalai lama.

On Sunday night the Tibetan community in Italy in collaboration with the cultural section of the Province of Milan city commemorated the world Human Rights day and celebrated the 17th anniversary of H.H the Dalai lama at Art’s Theatre ( Teatro dell’Arte ).

The day was dedicated in highlighting the violation of human rights in different parts of the world and specially the present condition of human rights in Tibet under Chinese occupation. The Tibetan community showed the film projection of the recent Nangpa la Shootings and a photo projection depicting Tibetan diaspora since Chinese occupation and in denonuncing the Culture genocide happening in Tibet.

The President of the Tibetan Community Dr. Thupten Tenzin stressed the objective of the community to promote and preserve Tibetan Identity and culture and called upon the fellow Tibetans not to be discouraged no matter how important economically China is growing up. Among the guest speakers were Mr Pierfrancesco Natta , a representative of UNHCR Italy and Mr Gunther Cologno, President of Italy -Tibet Association.

The Tibetan Community invited a well known and one of the most authentic Tibetan artist Mr. Loten Namling to perform for the occasion. His performance was well articulated and received high appreciation from the mixed audience of Tibetans and Italians. He was particularly happy for the invitation from a tibetan community. Most of the audience were deeply moved and left with a spirit of Tibet.
