This year, 10th December will observe one more celebration along 17th anniversary of His Holiness receiving the Nobel Peace Prize. His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be presented with ‘White Lotus order’, the highest award in Russia’s republic of Kalmykia, “for his outstanding merits and considerable contribution to the spiritual revival and prosperity of the republic.
10th December is always marked as a very important day for Tibetans all over the world because the Tibetan spiritual leader, His Holiness the Dalai Lama was bestowed with one of the most distinguished award on this day. The Nobel Peace Prize award in 1989 was presented to His Holiness for his selfless and perennial effort in keeping peace and harmony alive on this earth despite Chinese repeatedly baseless allegations against him as a splittest. However, his advocacy of a nonvoilent approach to resolving conflicts earned him the Nobel Peace Prize. And more than this, His Holiness has become an epitome for peace, inspiration for millions of people around the globe.
Around 52 delegates from Russia are expected to attend the conferment of the Nobel peace Prize to His Holiness as well as to honor him with Kalmyk’s highest award, “White Lotus Order”. Kalmyk’s President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov will also attend the award ceremony in Dharamsala.
