With great satisfaction and pride, the Tibetan Community in Victoria was host to TIPA for 5 days 19th to 23rd July 2006 in Melbourne, Australia; second most Multicultural City in world.
It was a great opportunity for the Tibetan Community and TIPA to share some of Tibet’s unique and ancient culture with people from different cultural backgrounds.
Our guests of honor were Senator Lyn Allison from the Australian Democrats and George Lekakis from the Victorian Multicultural Commission, both of whom enjoyed the show immensely.
About 600 Melbournians and 90 Tibetan Community members attended the two concerts over two nights.
The incredible response from the very enthusiastic crowd gave us strength and determination to do a much bigger tour in the future.
Many members of the audience joined the Tibetan Community and the TIPA artists for a tea party after the Saturday show.
We look forward to a return of these wonderful performing artists in the future.
