The Tibetan soccer team at this year’s Asian Community soccer tournament in Toronto came up with great performances and displayed in plenty their attacking brand of football with speed, creativity and accurate passing of the ball.

In their first ever match, the young Toronto Tibet soccer team came up with a stunning 6-0 victory over Pakistan. The Tibetans defeated Pakistan without conceding a single goal. Their next match with Burma Team A ended in a 2-2 draw. Another successive match with the Scarborough Rangers also ended in a draw with both sides scoring 3 goals each.

Despite the impressive show, the Tibetans were disappointed when they found out they failed to advance to the semi-finals due to goal differentials. But the players represented themselves very well and will try and keep the team together for next year’s tournament, where they hope to do even better.

CTSA Sri Lanka was the winner after packing off Korea in the final match. Altogether, there were 12 teams that represented various Asian nations and peoples in the tournament.
