Dharamshala, May 11 – The newly elected 43 members of the 14th Assembly of the Tibetan People’s Deputies (ATPD) will report here on 29 May for the swearing in ceremony and to attend the first session.
The ATPD will hold its first session on 1 and 2 June of this year.
Before the session the deputies will elect their chair and vice-chair.
The 43 of the total 46 members in the ATPD are directly elected by the Tibetan people.
The remaining three members with distinction in the field of art, science, literature and community service are appointed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
For the time being, His Holiness the Dalai Lama has deferred appointment of three members to the 14th ATPD.
Out of 43 elected deputies 16 are new members of the Assembly.
