Global meet on science and spirituality

New Delhi, January 22 – An international conference on science and spirituality will be held here Feb 5-7 to explore the relationship between the two knowledge traditions. The thrust of the gathering will be to comprehend how spiritual leaders view modern science and how scientists approach spirituality.

Eminent speakers in the fields of natural sciences, engineering, medicine, social sciences and humanities will share the stage, says a statement by the main organisers, Jawaharlal Nehru University.

Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama, whose government-in-exile in based in India, will deliver the inaugural address on “The Interface between Science and Spirituality”.

Panel discussions and papers will explore the symbiotic relationship and complex interplay of science and spirituality. The speakers will pan through a variety of medicine genres, including siddha, ayurveda, neurology and yoga, even as they tackle technology and scientific temper.

The speakers will be from the Centre for Studies in Civilizations, Ramakrishna Mission, Indian Institute of Technology, Russian State University for Humanities and the Australian National University.
