Tibetan Monk Drowns in Krishna River

Dharamshala 29 December – A Tibetan monk named yonten, aged 25, drowned in Krishna river yesterday, police said.

The monk had come to attend Kalachakra initiation at Amaravati in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh.

The Tibetan was washed away by the strong currents as he was bathing in the river, police further said.

The police said that his body has not been found yet.

The monk is said to have arrived a few days back. He was from Gaden monastic university in Mungod, Karnataka State.
