A charity football match was played on 31 May at Meazza Stadium, Milan-Italy. The match was organised to raised fund for Richard gere foundation for TCV and Andriy Shevchenko Foundation. It was played between Italian National Singer team and Golden Team captained by Andriy Shevchenko (European footballer of the year, a Ukrainian National, and AC MILAN striker).
Noted hollywood actor Richard Gere attended as the guest of honour and Jetsun Pema, the president of the Tibetan Chilren’s Village schools awarded the winner’s trophy. Among others present at the star studded football match were the likes of Diego Maradonna, Paolo Maldini etc.
Two Tibetan youngsters from the Tibetan national team have been invited to play in the match. Sonam Rinchen from Pokhara and Gonpo from Clement town are the two fortunate Tibetans who have had their lifetime opportunity of playing with their sporting idols and actually seeing the great legends of the game.
