The art of freedom fighting comes naturally to some people; Palden Gyatso, Ngawang Sangdrol, Takna Jigme Sangpo and Jampa Tenzin are shining examples of natural born freedom fighters. However, one must be aware that not all freedom fighters are born. In fact, most of the activists and leaders at the forefront of the Tibetan struggle today are graduates of rigorous trainings in the various fields of activism. Acting on the belief that there are many young Tibetans and supporters out there whose inner rebels and heroes are waiting to break into the world of the Free Tibet movement, Students for a Free Tibet organizes an annual action camp to provide them training, guidance and inspiration.

Free Tibet! Action Camp provides basic and advanced training on nonviolent resistance, grassroots organizing, and the art of freedom fighting to the current and future leaders of the Tibet movement. The camp brings together student activists, Tibetan community organizers, and seasoned human rights campaigners from around the world for a week of workshops, presentations, and discussions with experienced trainers from the Ruckus Society and a wide range of social justice and environment protection organizations.

Students for a Free Tibet will be holding its sixth annual Free Tibet! Action Camp in Duesseldorf, Germany from June 21th to 27th, 2005. To learn more, please visit www.studentsforafreetibet.org
