Dharamshala, May 6 – The Department of Home of the Central Tibetan Administration began its five-day conference today at Gangchen Kyishong staff mess. The Kalon Tripa and Kalon for department of home Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche was accompanied by his colleagues in the Kashag.
The Kalon for home said that the regional representatives of the Central Tibetan Administration play a very important role in the materialising Kashag’s policies in the Tibetan communities.
“We at the centre can not accomplish anything without the cooperation of the representatives”, said Kalon for home.
He also said that the representatives and the welfare officers are Kashag’s ambassadors to the various Tibetan communities and that they should be able to represent the Central Tibetan Administration properly in the settlements.
“The representatives should be able to convey the Kashag’s polices and stances to the Tibetan public and understand the administration’s policies, guidelines, rules and regulations”.
The representatives who will later form committees during the workshop were told that they should not hesitate to present before the department their problems and obstacles and suggestions.
The Kashag thanked the representatives for their efforts in the implementation of its policies and projects in the Tibetan settlements and requested them to continue their cooperation. The Kashag assured that the Central Tibetan Administration will provide all possible assistances. The department’s additional secretary Jigmey Jungney thanked the representatives for attending the workshop.
