10th December: The day to mourn and rejoice for Tibetans

While millions of Tibetan elsewhere around the globe celebrated the 14th anniversary of the conferment of noble peace prize to our beloved and dynamic leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama way back in 1989 on the day of universal human rights day. Regional Tibetan Youth Congress and Tibetan Sweater Seller’s Association, Baroda observed the day by organizing peace procession to condemn China’s grotesque violation of human rights in Tibet.

After all, the day began at 8:30am at Polo-ground (Tibetan Market) with lots of prayers and sangsol for the longer life of H.H The Dalai Lama and to rest in peace the souls of Tibetan martyrs who died for our cause and for many political prisoners who have suffered and is still suffering in the geol under the Chinese domain.

Then after tea and sweet rice recess. The main event of the day, i.e. the peace procession began at 10:00am sharp with Dr. Damodar Vyas as the chief supporter.

The main intention of the peace procession is to condemn China’s continous violation of human rights in Tibet. To call international bodies to exonerate Tulku Tenzin Delek from China’s different charges and to seek ultimate release of Tulku Tenzin Delek and Panchen Gendun Choekyi Nyima and other political prisoners.

The march began from Kalabhavan and enrooted Kothi-Char-Rasta, Raopura road and stopped at a significant point Gandhi-Chowk.

Many press reporters, journalists and local televisions beside local public of the city witnessed the rally.

The march ended with prayers and mourning, for the departed souls of our martyrs to rest in peace. At Gandi-Chowk we had our president introducing the day and the occasion and Tibet supporter, student of MS University; Mr. Darish delivered the Gujarati version of the same. Dr. Damodar Vyas gave the brief heart rendering speech of unrelenting support. And finally, rally over with freedom songs and pamphlets distribution..

Hence, the day to mourn and rejoice ended with mixed feelings.
